The Adventures of Phileas Goat, part 3
Posted by The Goatz on June 13, 2012
Day nine and I was heading to the USA – that money was to be mine Billy – so, to celebrate my imminent victory, I took a road trip through America.
I convinced everyone to let me fly economy, in return I had to say goodbye to my trademark tash; I kept the goatee though! The first stop was Orlando, which sounded delightful, until I was standing at the boarding gate and realised I’d be boarding a plane with 200 excitable children giddy about seeing Micky Mouse, where did I put my ear plugs?!
10 hours later with just 30 minutes of sleep we landed in Florida. First stop was the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort, Orlando, just within the walls of Disneyland. My prefect chance to pitch ‘A Goats Life’ film to Walt himself! It really is about time they introduced some goat based characters into Disney films, there’s only one Goat in any Disney film so far, can you tell me who it is?!
The Wyndham was a well-kept 4 star hotel, which provided a number of Disney and SeaWorld specific offers up on arrival, not that I’d have time for them, I had to get my script read by Walt himself! Turns out, I couldn’t find Walt anywhere...
Reluctantly, I agreed to move on with a four hour road trip to Hilton Marina…I needed to keep good time if I was to win my bet with Seamus.
After visiting the Hilton Beach resort, Forte Lauderdale, we finally made it to the Hilton Marina and got comfy for the evening. The hotel offered views over the marina of yachts that would humble Bill Gates, and really contemporary designed bedrooms and public spaces, although we did get much time to relax there before galloping on.
On to our next stop…West Palm Beach before heading to Miami International for the return flight home.
I never did find Walt, so I guess I’ll just have to save my script for the next trip, but I did prove Seamus wrong, it seems that goats can go around half the world in five days, and the whole world in 10 – victory is mine! Apologies though – I’ve been celebrating so much the last few weeks that I forgot to tell you all about it!
