Lunch at the Savoy
Posted by The Goatz on April 25, 2012
Oh what a treat we had the other day! On a recent clop up to London we needed to rest our weary hoofs and power up with a bit of lunch. Tired of eating oats and grass we thought we’d treat ourselves and book ourselves in for a lunch at the Savoy.
Sitting in the lovely light and airy Thames Foyer we enjoyed a very yummy lunch of Arnold Bennett Omelette (just in case you wondered….it’s named after the famous writer who wrote an the entire ‘Imperial Palace’ novel whilst staying at the Savoy – he loved the Omelette that the chefs made him so much that he demanded that it be made for him wherever he travelled – what a diva!).
We got a bit carried away drinking pots and pots of tea and soon we noticed the afternoon tea being served and the pianist starting to play. We are only little goats, so we couldn’t really fit any more in but looking at the sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream & jam and the amazing selection of cakes and pastries we were very tempted! It really is such a treat for afternoon tea lovers such as ourselves – we’ve made a note to go back for afternoon tea soon.
Anyway, back to the field now with a bump!
See you soon!
Tia and Tamera xx
